For those of you that didn’t stay up into the wee hours o’ the mornin last night I feel sorry for you. That was one one of the best F1 races I have personally ever seen. I decided to not do a live blog but a live tweet.
Someone call chicken little, the sky is indeed falling. And while you’re at it you might want to wipe the cats and dogs that have been raining down. And I am now getting conformation from the Planet-Irl weather department, it is indeed snowing in hell.
No Ferrari’s finished, best qualifying Ferrari was 9Th! The Merc’s started 12Th and 18Th with only one finishing! Both Toro Rossos in the points (Including my boy Bourdais who lucked out on the Vettel penalty). Fast lap went to Rosberg in the Williams! Both Force India cars in the top 11, led by Sutil who had a very eventful day. Oh yeah, and that team that didn’t exist a few weeks ago swept the front row and finished one-two.
Yes you could say it was an interesting race indeed. Big congrats to Ross Brawn. I’ve always been a big fan of Ross and after 10+ years of dealing with Michael Shumacher he deserves every bit of this. I know its a bit early to be talking about championships but here is an interesting fact for you; Every time a team has finished 1-2 in the first Grand Prix of the year that team has went on to win the constructors championship and the winning driver has always won the drivers title.
Even if Brawn Gp don’t win the championship we have all undoubtedly just witnessed a change in the Grand Prix racing world. Gone now are the days or red and silver domination at the front of the grid and now upon us are the times when privateers can once again show their faces on the top step of the podium.
