My streak couldn’t last forever. I picked Carpenter, Dixon, Hunter-Reay, Meira, and Wheldon for Kansas. Not great overall. But the standings are as follows.

- Team Gasoline Alley-2268
- Planet-Irl Racing Technology-2267
- Team Tony George 4 President-2124
- The Other Side Motorsports-1417
- Team dpt24-1170
- Scot Racing-733
- Team Too Much Racing-426
And remember we’re still accepting teams. Send me a message at planetirl@yahoo.com for details.

Our buddy Pat just brought this to my attention. Best racing song since Kenny Bracks AJ Foyt tribute. It is Grammy worthy!

So we all waited for 6 months for some side-by-side 3 wide racing action. We wanted last lap passes, wheel-to-wheel, racing. And what do we get? A few passes in the middle of the field and one driver in the lead for more than 2/3rds of the race. And another complaint, what happened to Vision, Panther, and Newman Haas squads? They usually excel on the ovals but were relegated to Midfield behind the Big 2*. In all fairness the wind didn’t help. Just drive down your local highway at 100MPH or so in a cargo van in 40MPH winds and try to pass within 2 feet of similar vehicle. The best battle of the day was between Ed Carpenter and my boy Dan Wheldon. They seemed to be together all day and finished 9th and 10th respectively. It could be worse of course, it could be a street course.
The good news is we can now go to Indianapolis where there couldn’t be a car on track and it’s still awesome. The bad news is the speed of the cars. I was not around for the record-breaking years and I envy those of you that got to hear Tom Carnegie say those chilling words. Lets hope when the new car comes around in 2011 we can get another 10MPH squeezed out of them and get A NEW TRACK RECORD!
I’d also like to point out that I am now advertising here on Planet-Irl. Partypoker.com is now our “Title sponsor” and we’ve put a few banners on the sidebar and below the posts. All proceeds will be used to get to more races to better cover the series. So show me some love and click a few!
