So, here it is… http://www.indycar.com/news/?story_id=14770
My initial thoughts are quite mixed. It’s nice that the League has put the schedule out this early and it’s good that there seems to actually be a market for the IndyCar Races these days. However, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in the announcement of 2 ovals being lost and 2 road courses being added. I know the New Hampshire race was poorly attended when the IndyCar Series last raced there in 1998 but many things have changed in the past 11 years. The northeast part of the US is an area that IndyCar Series really needs to be in and it’s a shame that the IndyCar Series can’t come to terms with a track that is desperate to have them. It’s no secret that International Speedway Corporation (ISC) continues to give the Indy Racing League kicks to the groin year in and year out (as witnessed by the removal of Richmond, just like Michigan, California, Nazareth, Pikes Peak, and Phoenix before it) but Speedway Motorsports Inc. seems to be one of the few true friends that the League has. I suppose I can understand the concern with the IRL avoiding NHMS with Sprint Cup dates very close together and a short racing season. What I really do NOT understand is why the Indy Racing League is continuously avoiding Las Vegas. That track only hosts one Sprint Cup race and that is usually the first weekend in March. Why the League would not want to finish the season in Vegas is just beyond me.
I’ll chew on this schedule for a bit longer and come back with some more thought-out comments.

So should I be so bold as to say, hey Mikey, better defend the pony bud, it’s been tough this year!
Or — Hey Mikey, don’t lose a wheel like your boy Alonso! Don’t wanna get ejected from a race you haven’t yet ran! Or wait… He was suspended? Expelled? Who cares, it won’t last if the FIA hierarchy have any dignity left. Maybe the FIA should just admit they’re a governing body completely consumed with themselves with a slightly public issue of Nazi fetishism.
Regards Bernie. Way to represent bro.
Indeed, I am happy yet petrified to see The Schu back in the driver’s seat. Ferrari has a longstanding tradition of “gently nudging” drivers out of their seat so they can bring in “the next big thing” — Which has come up with Kimi recently as they may be making way for Alonso(although, isn’t Alonso now a former big thing?). I personally threw my own epic LAN party when The Schu was out — We ran 24 hours of F1 Sim Races with nothing but McLarens! DEATH BE TO FERRARI oops they’re still there aren’t they.
It was a few years too late for me though — My boy Mika was already prepped to hit up the DTM’s.
The Schu hopefully will give F1 a bit of a shot in the arm that is badly needed. The news recently has largely revolved around non-stop off-track issues. First Bernie’s Big Adventure ERRRRR sex tape, followed by huge rule changes, Mosley’s Take 2 on Bernie’s Big Adventure, Bernie’s spectacular support for Hitler and subsequent bashing of democracy(somewhat well deserved, might I add), Brawn’s rise, Red Bull’s rise, the release of Bourdais when he was outperforming his counterpart driver — I think I missed some. Who fricken cares.
Now we got something. A driver that probably didn’t want to retire in the first place. He went out at the top of his game, but not in a Barry Sanders sense. Barry Sanders completely left the game — The Schu has still been there. He’s still been right next to those cars, which should give him a huge advantage over someone who maybe is coming in cold(see “Jaime”). He might need a few seconds to get the swing going again, but he’s The Schu. He’s going to make my boys at McLaren look like they’re not Lewis and whoever the hell that Finnish knocking on the out door is look like Mister “I can’t qualify” Fisichella and his own counterpart, Mister “Give me a Good Wall to Knock Down” Sutil.
Good to have you back Schu, now when are you leaving again? Good day gents.
