It made its first appearance in the chassis survey that went to Downforce members yesterday, but more detailed images have emerged today of Swift’s latest design proposal, labeled as car #50.
Credit for the initial posting of these images is due to motorracingblog.nl. Incidentally, an interview with Swift’s Director of Motorsports, Casper van der Schoot, is part of the same post. Should you wish to run the Dutch text through an online translator, it can be found here: http://www.motorracingblog.nl/?p=3920.

The 5th contender to become the next chassis manufacturer for the IRL Indycar Series has released images of their new car. The BAT project led by engineers Bruce Ashmore, Alan Mertens, and Tim Wardrop put out a car similar to what we’ve seen so far but with a few distinct features.
The car features the rear “bumper” that we’ve been seeing on most of the new car designs. This goes with the continuing trend of concealing the rear wheel structure while maintaining the same basic setup of contemporary open-wheel cars. The rear wing is supported by large fins like those on the Swift and Dallara concepts. The front wheels are protected by the long barge boards on the front of the sidepods. All of these features add to the focus of the BAT project which was centered around building a safer Indy Car.
